Mission is to review bills and their impact upon our membership with information provided to the membership by newsletter articles (SCAN or Effluents). Letters or emails are prepared to Legislators to make them aware of our support or opposition to a bill. Testimony is provided at hearings in the Senate or Assembly.

S-1041 – Gordon, Robert (D-38); Bateman, Christopher (R-16)
Prohibits treatment, discharge, disposal, application to roadway, or storage of wastewater, wastewater solids, sludge, drill cuttings or other byproducts from natural gas exploration or production using hydraulic fracturing.

Establishes NJ Water Supply and Pharmaceutical Product Study Commission.

S-1656 – Bucco, Anthony (R-25)
Requires minimum water usage charge to be applied per dwelling unit in multi-family dwelling.

Establishes Class I renewable energy certificate multiplier program for certain energy production facilities fueled by methane.

“Stormwater Management and Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement Bond Act of 2014,” authorizes bonds for $50,000,000, and appropriates $5,000.

Establishes various good governance requirements at State and local authorities.

A-2958 – Garcia, Carmelo (D-33)
Permits removal of State board, commission or independent authority member for failure to attend three consecutive meetings thereof without good cause.
