1. After logging in, hover your mouse pointer over the words “NJ Water Environment Association,” then select “Dashboard” from the drop down menu.

NOTE: On some browsers, the words “NJ Water Environment Association” appear cut off.

2. On the left side of the screen, hover over “Posts” and select add new from the drop down menu.

3. You should now see the editing screen. Scroll down until you see the box on the right side of the screen labeled “Categories.” Select North, Central, or South, depending on your section. To have the news appear on the home page, also check the box “Featured North Jersey,” “Featured South Jersey,” or “Featured Central Jersey.”

4. Continue to scroll down until you see a box on the right labeled “Featured Image.” Click “Set featured image” to select the main image for your post.

5. Click inside the white text box to start editing.

3. When your changes are complete, you may click “Preview” to see your edits before they are published.

4. Click the blue button labeled “Publish” on the right of the screen to publish your changes.

To change the appearance of text:

Select text by clicking and holding as you drag your mouse over the words you want to select. Then, with the text selected, click on any of the buttons in the toolbar to apply formatting. Options include:

Bold – Text appears darker.
Italics – Text appears slanted.
Text Style – Specify text as part of a paragraph (small) or a heading (large).
Ordered / Unordered List – Make text appear as a bulleted or numbered list.

Some of these buttons may be hidden. To reveal all buttons, click the “kitchen sink” button (It’s shaped like a keyboard).

To create a link:

  1. Select the text you want to be linked. Then click the link button on the toolbar (It has a picture of a chain link). A dialog box should appear in the center of your screen.
  2. Enter the web address you want to link to in the URL field, or select an internal page from the list at the bottom of the dialog box.
  3. Click “Add Link.”

To add an image:

  1. Place your cursor where you want the image to appear by clicking in the desired location.
  2. Click the “Add Media” button. A box labeled “Insert Media” will appear.
  3. Select an existing image, or click “Upload Files” at the top to select your own.
  4. Click “Insert into post”.

To attach a PDF document:

  1. Place your cursor where you want the image to appear by clicking in the desired location.
  2. Click the “Add Media” button. A box labeled “Insert Media” will appear.
  3. Click “Upload Files” towards the top ob the box.
  4. Click “Select Files.” Choose a PDF stored on your computer.
  5. Enter the title of the document in the right hand column.
  6. Click “Insert into post”
