based out of our Kearny, NJ office location. Candidate must be self motivated, willing to work alone, dedicated, attentive to detail, and very organized. This position will require working in inclement weather. Responsibilities include field work, minor mechanical/electrical upkeep and trouble shooting of groundwater pumping systems, sampling of groundwater, air, and soil, and subsequent data entry.
Experience working with mechanical systems and basic computer skills a plus but not required. 40hr HAZWOPR Training preferred, valid driver’s license a must. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Serving multiple municipalities in northern New Jersey, this wastewater treatment plant recognizes the importance of its efforts for the protection and preservation of our service area's environment and waterways, in a safe and economical manner.
We are seeking an Assistant Executive Director whose primary responsibilities will include serving as the plant’s licensed operator and supervising the day-to-day operation of the wastewater treatment plant, interceptor system and metering chambers. This includes management oversight of the maintenance and operations unionized labor force.
At a minumum, the Candidate must possess the following licenses / credentials: a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, biology or equivalent; C-4 and S-4 licenses issued by the NJDEP;
comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and controls used in the treatment of wastewater; minimum of 8 years of experience operating a wastewater treatment plant and sewer system which must include 3 years of supervisory experience; knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations associated with the operation of wastewater treatment plants. Other requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
